I read a post months ago - I forgot who it was - on aphantasia and I'd never heard of it, but it seems like I have it. I shall read Erin's post to see, but I did a few online tests and it suggests I do. Interesting, I just thought everyone was like this.

Very interesting. Maybe I’ll do a test just to rule it out.

So glad that there's a word for me "aphantasic". Also need to start practicing the 90 second rule.

Glad that you found this useful.

Such a lovely read! I'm going to reflect on my own visualisation experiences. I describe myself as a visual thinker. But what do I really mean by that? I'd love to have a go at articulating it more specifically.

So strange my sister , her daughter and I were all discussing this a few months back . None of us can visualise, we tried the Apple test, even worse , when asked to go back to a happy place , all of us panic, not because we haven’t got a happy place ! I personally find it impossible to do ! Although when I dream I know I have images in my head so can do it when asleep but not awake !! The 90 second wave sounds great , I’m going to try it.

I really enjoyed this liza! Thank you for such interesting secrets ☺️🥰 I knew about the 90 second emotions wave and I found it so helpful to learn Tara Brach's technique of RAIN for processing strong emotions. It's a work in progress for me 😅

Thank you for reading, Jo. I feel like the Tara Brach technique is even a step further, as it includes self-compassion for the emotion we’re experiencing.

I love this, Liza! I also listen to We Can Do Hard Things and loved that episode! Your timing is perfect. I was just having a conversation with one of my daughters about the experience of emotions and I had forgotten about that quote from Amanda. I just sent it to her because it is the perfect continuation of what we were talking about. Thank you! It's funny, my husband and oldest daughter can visualize imaginary worlds to an extraordinary degree and they both have some level of ADHD. :-) I didn't know there was a connection there. And I am SO GRATEFUL to have you as a host for the Mastermind. Thank you so very much for saying yes!

Thank you so much, Rebecca. WCDHT is a fabulous podcast. And I love being part of Mastermind.

I love all of these secrets! I especially loved reading about your own visualisation abilities…I feel like aphantasia leads to some interesting places and conversations.

Absolutely, I really want to know more about aphantasia and what it really means because it sometimes feels like it is what I am experiencing and at other times not at all.
